Opportunities for international students in STEM fields

International students on F-1 visas who earn a degree in a STEM major are eligible to apply for a 24-month STEM OPT extension following the completion of their post-completion OPT. Below is a list of academic majors eligible for the STEM OPT extension for both undergraduate and graduate programs.

The program must be in person, on campus to be STEM eligible. Online programs are not eligible. Only Master’s and Ph.D. graduate programs are eligible for the STEM OPT extension. Certificate programs do not qualify.
