To qualify for the Generations Award, a student must be the child/grandchild/great-grandchild of an Iowa State graduate

GPA requirement is for cumulative academic transfer GPA. Transfer credit includes all academic college transfer credit. Remedial or career/technical credit does not contribute to the academic GPA. For all of these awards, a student must enroll full-time at Iowa State following enrollment at a previous higher education institution, be assessed nonresident tuition, and be pursuing their first Bachelor’s degree; if a student has already earned an undergraduate degree, they are not eligible.

The Transfer Achievement Award cannot be combined with the Transfer Success Award.

Requirements:

  • Attain a minimum 3.25 cumulative academic transfer GPA on a 4.00 scale
  • Complete a minimum of 30 transferable academic semester credits

$9,000 ($3,000/year for up to 3 years*)

The Transfer Success Award cannot be combined with the Transfer Achievement Award.

Requirements:

  • Attain a minimum 3.00 cumulative academic transfer GPA on a 4.00 scale

$6,000 ($2,000/year up to 3 years*)

The Transfer Expedition Award can be stacked with the Transfer Achievement Award or Transfer Success Award.

Requirements:

  • Attain a minimum 3.00 cumulative academic transfer GPA on a 4.00 scale
  • Be a resident of the state of Illinois, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, South Dakota, or Wisconsin

*To renew these awards the student must remain continuously enrolled at Iowa State University on a full-time basis in good academic standing with a minimum of 12 credits per semester, be assessed nonresident tuition and maintain a minimum 2.50 cumulative grade point average. These awards are available during fall and spring semesters only, not during the summer or winter terms.

These awards are available to new students starting in the Fall of 2024. Preference given to students who apply by May 1, 2024. Awards may be available after May 1, 2024, contingent upon the availability of funds.
