New entrepreneurial ventures can attract the wrong kind of attention

Paul Sanchez-Ruiz, assistant professor of management and entrepreneurship

Sanchez-Ruiz's award-winning research shows that new ventures can attract the wrong kind of attention, as criminals victimize entrepreneurs, leading them to slow the growth of their business, relocate, or even close.

    Innovation and entrepreneurship

Your opportunities in entrepreneurship are endless. You may choose to start your own business, hire employees, and become the engine of our economy. If you don’t want to start something, that’s OK. Use your entrepreneurial skills and join a startup, small business, large corporation, or nonprofit organization. Entrepreneurial students fit in anywhere.

It’s so realistic that you’ll swear you’re running shoulder-to-shoulder with the Cyclone football team. An Ivy College of Business student created a company that uses virtual reality technology to make fans feel like they’re on the field and in the middle of the action. The light cardboard VR headsets are affordable and as simple to use as scanning a QR code.
