Programs and Initiatives

Provides four-year, half-tuition scholarships to one high school student in every Iowa county, every year. Hixson Scholars also receive peer mentorship, academic support and community building. 

Develops and enhances awareness and fosters dialogue that helps to cultivate an environment where all students have the opportunity to work hard and succeed.

Provides academic and financial resources, personal, career and leadership development, and access to mentors to support persistence in STEM programs.

Assists students on their nine-year journey — from eighth grade through college graduation — to meet the need for a highly trained workforce in ASTEM (agriculture, science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) and education.

Assistance throughout college for first-generation, low-income students and students with disabilities.
