Christian Petersen's The Gentle Doctor sculpture has become an international symbol for veterinary medicine. The original terra cotta statue is at the Hixson-Lied Small Animal Hospital at the College of Veterinary Medicine. A bronze replica (above) stands on the veterinary college plaza.
