Union remodel
A two-year renovation project at the Memorial Union will modernize about a
dozen meeting rooms, remove barriers to accessibility within the building,
add two elevators, create an east access to the Sun Room and South Ballroom,
and link every level of the building to the adjacent parking ramp.

Residence department budget to be trimmed $1.7 million
ISU's Department of Residence will close Helser Hall and keep a dining
center closed during the 2004-2005 academic year as part of an effort to cut

Faculty discuss university's future
Faculty from across campus are gathering April 30-May 1 for the annual
faculty conference. This year, the faculty are discussing "How should we
prepare for the 21st century?" The topic was chosen to coincide with the
university's preparation for a new strategic plan.

Award-winning guitarist performs May 1
Robert Belinic, the first guitarist to win the Young Concert Artists
International Auditions since its 1961 inception, will give a recital on

Structural materials testing facility dedication Friday
A $200,000 gift in memory of P. Craig Livesay, an Iowa State University
graduate, has created a facility to advance instruction, research and
outreach in structural engineering. The facility will be dedicated Friday.
