Message to parents
We share your concern for the safety and well-being of your student,
along with all other students, staff and faculty here at Iowa State.
We're very fortunate that Ames is a relatively safe community, and we
have no reason to believe this safety is jeopardized under the current
war with Iraq or the threat of domestic terrorism. Ultimately, no
one's safety can be guaranteed, but Iowa State is committed to
providing a secure, respectful environment. We will teach and support
your student and hope that some normalcy will help us through these
challenging times.
Students who are concerned for their safety triggered by an event or
interaction with another community member should contact the
Department of Public Safety at 294-4428. Students feeling stress or
anxiety are encouraged to contact Student Counseling Services at
294-5056.
