Nov. 6Nov. 13 deadline to buy chartered bus tickets for Thanksgiving breakFriday, Nov. 13, is the last day for students to buy tickets for the Thanksgiving Break chartered bus rides offered by the Office of New Student Programs. As in past years, there will be buses for students from the Chicago-land and Twin Cities area of Minnesota. The buses will depart campus Nov. 20 and return Nov. 29. Students can get additional information and/or purchase tickets in the New Student Programs Office, 2630 Memorial Union or online. Anyone who receives the H1N1 vaccine in flu mist form must wait 14 days before receiving the seasonal vaccine in flu mist form. Oct. 22Library opens new computer labIowa State University Library opens a new Learning Connections Center computer classroom (134 Parks) adjacent to the Help & Information Desk. The classroom, funded in large part by the Roy J. Carver Charitable Trust, contains 48 student computers with shared instructor monitors at each station. The classroom will function as an open computer lab when not being used for library instruction programs. More. Oct. 20Save the date: Sustainability symposium Feb. 23-24The second annual ISU Sustainability Symposium will feature an evening reception Feb. 23 and a day packed with presentations, panel discussions and a research poster session on Feb. 24. The symposium will be open to those inside and outside the Iowa State community. The president's office will cover the $60 registration fee for ISU faculty, staff and students who attend the symposium. Registration materials will be posted soon on the Live Green! web site.
