How to use these templates

• Pick out a template and decide if you want the banner at the top to include a site index. Compare the banners.
• Open the full-size version of the template you've selected.
• "View source" from your browser menu. Copy and adapt the source code for your web page.
• You may or may not need to download the "extras" folder. See "Do I need 'extras.'"
• Ensure that source code is written in XHTML. It's generally an easy task to transform HTML into XHTML.
• Check your web page for coding errors with the W3C validator.
• Sign up for our web page coordinators list by sending your e-mail address and the web site you manage to dpounds@iastate.edu, 294-4845. Members of the list will be updated on changes or updates in the templates.
