Give through the ISU Foundation

The ISU Foundation is a private non-profit organization dedicated to securing and stewarding private gifts and grants that benefit Iowa State University. Each year, thousands of generous benefactors make gifts to show their support for Iowa State. Learn more about how you can make a difference.

Show your colors

When you buy Iowa State clothing or souvenirs, you give to Iowa State. Royalties on these products are shared with athletic and undergraduate programs.

Get a "State" plate

ISU license plate

You'll help a deserving student pay for college when you buy a Cyclone specialty license plate. Half of the $50 fee goes to Iowa State for financial aid. Apply for plates through the Iowa DOT or your county treasurer's office.

Join the Alumni Association

Members of the ISU Alumni Association support student scholarship and leadership programs, local and national club programs, special events, and alumni recognition programs that strengthen and keep alumni close to Iowa State. How to join.

Join National Cyclone Club

Through their gifts, National Cyclone Club members foster student-athletes' success in the classroom and on the playing field. How to join.

Volunteer

Here are a just few of many ways to offer your time and talent to Iowa State.

  • Help out at Iowa's showcase garden spot -- Reiman Gardens. (Volunteer opportunities.)
  • Show a senior how to use the Internet, consult with local gardeners, work at the Farm Progress Show. Contact your county Extension office for information about these volunteer activities and more.
  • Lend a hand at the Special Olympics and Iowa Games, two heart-warming sporting events that draw thousands of competitors to the ISU campus each summer. To volunteer for Special Olympics contact: rschwarzkopf@soiowa.org. To volunteer for Iowa Games, contact: kim@iowagames.org.
  • Mentor an ISU student, through the ISU Alumni mentor program.
  • Get involved in a local alumni club to support student recruitment and other alumni activities.

Student

Donors to the ISU Foundation in FY07 gave:

  • $27.4 million in student support, providing 110 new scholarship and fellowship accounts. More than 4,100 students received scholarships through private support in FY07.
  • $9.1 million in faculty support, a 28 percent increase over the previous year.
  • $22.9 million to support Iowa State's facilities, including athletics, chemistry, electrical engineering, the Veterinary Medicine Teaching Hospital, agricultural and biosystems engineering complex.
