October 27, 2004 Early November is decision time for proposed college combinationby Karen Bolluyt Nov. 1 is the deadline for faculty from the colleges of Education and Family and Consumer Sciences to vote on a proposal to combine their colleges. Voting is being done through AccessPlus, starting Oct. 27. When voting is complete, the provost will receive the proposal and the results of the vote later the same week. He will send these documents, plus his recommendation, to the executive committee of the Faculty Senate in time for the Nov. 9 senate meeting. A faculty senate vote is expected, at the earliest, in December. Results of both votes, the provost's recommendation and the proposal then would go to President Gregory Geoffroy. Geoffroy's recommendation is the last step before the proposal and both vote results are presented to the Board of Regents, State of Iowa. The regents will not meet in January. A proposal most likely would be introduced at the Feb. 2-3 regents meeting. More information about the combination proposal is online. |
