On Jan. 14, in front of a Hilton Coliseum fan fest, Cael Sanderson (right) pinned Hofstra's Ralph Everett to break the record for the most consecutive victories without a loss or a tie, held by former Cyclone and Olympian Dan Gable (left), a 1972 ISU graduate. The two men stood side by side on the Hilton floor following the match. Asked about their relationship, Sanderson grinned slightly, squirmed some, and finally said, "He's a Hawkeye. I'm a Cyclone.
