Srikanth Padmanabhan, 91 PhD Mech Engr, is plant manager of the Filtration Business Unit of Cummins Engine Co., Cookeville, Tenn. Nancy A. Surprenant, 91 Landscape Arch, has joined Shive-Hattery Incs. Des Moines office as a landscape architect. Jim Pease, 92 PhD Animal Ecology, extension wildlife specialist and assistant professor in animal ecology, received the Aldo Leopold Environment Education Award from the Iowa Conservation Education Council. Joseph M. Kasperski, 96 Aerospace Engr, a Navy Lt. j.g., reported for duty with the director of the Office of Naval Intelligence, Washington, D.C. J. Hugo Cota-Sanchez, 97 PhD Botany, is an assistant professor in the biology department at the University of Saskatchewan, Canada, and curator of the Herbarium W. P. Fraser.

Michael Dosmann, 98 MS Hort, studied gardening in England for 10 months through the Martin McLaren Fellowship. Ronnie Fong, 98 Indus Engr, joined Ariba Inc. in Mountain View, Calif., as a software engineer.
Theresa Uchytil, 98 Sp/Com, was crowned Miss Iowa 2000 and will represent Iowa in the 80th Miss America Pageant. As a student, Uchytil was involved in many Alumni Association activities: member of the 1996 Homecoming Central Committee, chairperson for the Student Alumni Associations Family Weekend, and a member of the 1996 Family of the Year. She served on the Athletic Advisory Committee, was the featured twirler for the Iowa State University Cyclone Varsity Marching Band, Veishea Committee, and was a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority.

Sue Osier, 80, 83 MS Indus Engr, was named executive in charge of Broadcast Communications Divisions Operation and Manufacturing Center of Harris Corporation in Quincy, Ill. M. Kathleen "Kit" Hansen, 82 Econ, is manager of tax and escrow analysis at Principal Financial Group in Des Moines. Scott A. Hansen, 82 Animal Sci, is regional sales manager with VetLife in West Des Moines. Hossein Jadvar, 82 Chem Engr, radiologist, was presented the Marc Tetalman Young Investigator Award at the Society of Nuclear Medicines annual meeting. Ellen Kabat Lensch, 83 Biology, is the director of the Advanced Technology Environment Education Center at Scott Community College. Robert B. Mills, 83 Engr Operations, returned to ISU as communications specialist for Institute for Physical Research and Technology. Lila A. Paul Gustafson, 84 Engr Operations, has been named vice president of business development at IQ.COM. Rhondi Staley Ewing, 85 Graphic Des, was named president and CEO of Cutee Corporation, Westlake Village, Calif. Eric Anderson Grau, 85 Biometry, 88 MS Stat, is a research statistician with Research Triangle Institute N.C., and resides in Philadelphia, Pa. Kurt Tjaden, 85 Acct, joined Gateway as vice president of finance. He and his wife, Kristyn Cassidy Tjaden, 85 Sp/Com, live in Tokyo, Japan, with their four sons. Jon Reding, 86, 88 MS Mech Engr, a booster systems engineer with the United Space Alliance, was awarded the Silver Snoopy, the astronauts award for safety and excellence by NASAs Astronaut Office. Barbara Hancock Snyder, 87 PhD Prof Stds in Ed, was named vice president for student affairs at the University of Utah.
