Einstein would be proud. Iowa State's International Institute of Theoretical and Applied Physics (IITAP) has released a full-text version of a physics textbook on the World Wide Web.

"By putting the book on the Web, we break down geographic barriers and encourage higher levels of learning worldwide," said James Vary, iitap's acting director. Physics -- The Root of Science combines traditional learning methods with new information technology, Vary said. IITAP officials plan to expand the Web version of the book to include video clips and interactive learning modules. They also plan to put a calculus book and other textbooks on the Web.
