A delicious legacy
half century ago, Mildred Day (28),
working in the
Kellogg Co.
kitchens, helped develop Rice Krispies Treats for a Camp Fire Girls
fund-raiser. The Rice Krispies cereal, butter and marshmallow treats were
introduced to the public in the '40s and continue to be popular today, both
in their original recipe form and other tasty variations.Day, a graduate of the universitys Home Economics College (now Family and Consumer Sciences) died in June at the age of 92.
