Here are four key Iowa State organizations involved in technology transfer activities.The Coordinating Council for Technology Transfer. CCOTT coordinates all Iowa State technology transfer activities.
Iowa State University Research Foundation. ISURF secures patent protection for the university's inventions and licenses the inventions to the private sector.
Office for Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer. OIPTT is responsible for making patent recommendations to ISURF and marketing inventions to companies.
Center for Advanced Technology Development. CATD funds additional research and development on promising inventions to make them more appealing to companies. CATD also acts as "agent" for OIPTT to help market inventions related to the physical sciences to companies.
