Alumni honors and awards convocation

To allow greater interaction between our most accomplished Iowa Staters and the entire ISU community, the Alumni Association has moved its annual Honors and Awards Convocation to Home-coming weekend.

On Sept. 27, the association will present more than 30 awards, including the Distinguished Achievement Citation (DAC), the university's premier alumni award. Each of the colleges will present their major alumni awards, as well.

The convocation formerly was held in conjunction with Alumni Days each June. Moving it to Homecoming, said association executive director Jim Hopson, accomplishes two goals:

-- Bringing greater awareness to the honorees' accomplishments.

-- Enhancing interaction between award winners and students, faculty, staff and alumni.

The Iowa Stater's annual listing of award winners will be included in the September issue.
