Among The Chosen


Iowa State standouts Loren Meyer (left) and Fred Hoiberg were 
among the 58 collegiate elite chosen in the NBA draft June 
28. 

Meyer, a native of Ruthven, was drafted in the first round by 
the Dallas Mavericks in the 24th slot. Ames native Hoiberg 
was the Indiana Pacers' second-round pick, No. 52 overall.

Hoiberg earned a bachelor's degree in May in business 
administra-tion with a major in finance; Meyer is a senior in 
speech communication.
